Abdominal Perimeter
Definition
Abdominal girth measurements of the distance around the abdomen at a specific point, usually the belly button (navel) of the level. Diagnose and measure abdominal girth is used to monitor the following:
* Stomach fluid Buildup, most often due to liver failure or heart failure
* Obesity
* Stomach Gas Buildup, most often due to intestinal blockage or obstruction
Beam axis are more accurate than those made over the measurement axis. Despite this, some measurements (eg crown rump (CRL) the length and femur length) should be measured around the axis.

Circumference of the abdomen during pregnancy
After the first trimester of pregnancy a multiparameter assessment of gestational age is advocated. At least two embryos (usually biparietal (BPD) diameter and femur length (FL)) measurement plus head circumference (HC), occipitofrontal diameter (OFD), abdominal circumference (AC) and humerus length as an additional parameter should include a consideration (hl).Beam axis are more accurate than those made over the measurement axis.
